Cream colored oil
Cream colored oil
I finally got her running (if you've been following, if not please keep reading), and I forgot to plug the breather hole on the pass. side. So, it's puking up this lovely cream colored stuff while it runs and is smoking ALOT of white smoke (sat for two years). So, I turned it off and left it alone. Now, in my "project" part of this, I replaced the intake gasket. And did not torque down the bolts in the correct sequence or to the right ft-lb. (didn't even think about it). How likely is it that that's my problem??

Just torque everything down good and tight. If you only ran it for a little, then the gaskets should be good.
If your oil is cream colored, definitely change it along with the oil filter, just use cheap oil, you might have to change it twice to get all the stuff out.

Re: Cream colored oil
And was the car sitting 2 years with the breather hole open and the same oil in it for those 2 years?
If thats what it is, just plug the hole up, torque the intake down good, change the oil and see if that fixes the smoke. Then just run it a bit and change the oil again and it should all be good.
Re: Cream colored oil
I went ahead and pulled off the intake. The part underneath the intake where the pushrods sit was full of this cream colored oil, prolly 2 quarts worth. Is oil supposed to be in this area??

Yes, but no water.
You'd better hope it came from the outside of the engine and not the inside.

Re: Cream colored oil
I'm keeping my fingers crossed it did. I'm hoping my screw up with not torquing the bolts correctly/correct order is the cause of the problem. However, the fact it's leaking coolant out of the back (by the flywheel) doesn't give me a lot of hope..I'm hoping that's just a freeze plug..
