Estimated Power From My 305?

Hello, this is my first post so please excuse me if this is the wrong section. I have a 1990 camaro RS, IROC clone. It has a TBI 305 in it. It is my understanding that stock this car had around 170hp. I have asked many friends and co-workers what they think its power is now after a few improvements, but I thought I would ask some experts. Right now I have some kind of hyper tech performance chip in it (that I did not install), my air injection pump bypassed in the serpentine, the intake riser that allows for a crossover in the intake/ throttle body, and the stock exhaust cut after the y-pipe until I can get some headers and a dual setup on it. For what its worth to this question it has a manual 5 speed into a 3.42 rear gear. I am estimating around 190hp, I have heard that old cars lose quite a bit of power over the years. Otherwise everything else is stock and it runs great. If anyone could enlighten me to their opinion it would be very appreciated.

if you didn't already hollow out your catalytic converter, it's probably plugged up from you removing the belt to the air system, costing you power and economy, and making your emissions worse.

I agree, get headers next, and if the car isn't your DD, get long tubes.

with 57. And headers are good, but your swirl-port heads and tiny cam are your current bottlenecks.

Thanks for the input. It is a flowmaster cat on it so that may help. But I have a pair of headers I plan to put on it with dynomax mufflers.

That should help out in with any future mods, but like Atilla said, your heads and cam are going to some-what restrict the power gains.

Really? I was told that it provided more air into the exhaust so that the catalytic converter could burn off unburned gas... or something like that, and without that extra air it couldn't function correctly, causing it to plug up.

ps. sorry to steal your thread.
