Hey guys, I live in southern california and tomorrow I am leaving with my friends to oakland california which is about 350 miles north of where I live for an AC/DC concert, we are taking my car. It has 218,000 miles on it, the motor has never given me any problems, do you guys think my car will make it up there without blowing the motor or tranny? What should I do to my car before I leave tomorrow? Thanks alot.

 

As long as the car is in good tune you should be fine. My 305 came out at 227k and went into a truck..... it still runs and has to be close to 300k. The mileage does not matter near as much as how it's taken care of.

 

My 89 has 216k on it and I'd drive it anywhere.

 

not much as long as you dont abuse it, i learned that the hard way, now i have a crunchy 5th gear synchro.

These motors run hard and long, no need to worry about it blowing up unless its looking that way from the get go

 

The previous owner of my camaro used to take the car to LA all the time (lived in North Cali) and it had 217k miles.
