Re: need cam info
what type of power are you looking to achieve?
i would consider an lt1 cam and some 1.6 sa roller rockers,it performs nicely.
just tossin the idea out there! since any larger cam will require more work to the valvetrain....

Re: need cam info
for price of a New camshaft 260.00 you can get a used Lt1 cam for 50.00 or less then buy a set of 1.6 rr for 200.00.....
yes, you really will like the performance gain with the cam and even more with the 1.6s..promise you that!
gaskets 80.00
Lt1 cam 50.00
double roller timing chain 65.00
1.6rr sa 200.00
reuse existing lifters or buy used Lt1 rollers for 40.00
roughly 400.00-450.00for a gain you can see and feel

Re: need cam info
With an LT1 cam and stock heads, you can use either the stock 1.5 ratio rockers, or you'll have to get new springs and retainers if you want to use the 1.6 ratio rockers too. The stock springs will not handle the extra lift of both.
I suggest the Manley 22410-16 springs (or 22409-16 for a stock cam), and the 23652-16 retainers (work with either springs). That'll be good for a .500" lift setup. If you go over .500" lift you'll need the 42106-16 screw-in studs.

Re: need cam info
if you can find a pair of TPI heads along with the forementioned cam/rocker and spring combo it will breathe and run to its full potential once tuned properly,TBI car heads are POO but if that is what you have use it knowing you can gain more performance..
your motor is similar to your relationship,if you don't have good head you will never reach your maximum potential
