Rockers on my TBI 305
I was thinking about getting a set of rockers for my 305 TBI (1990). Does anyone know what the maximum lift I can get is to clear the pistons and avoid over compressing my springs? Or can anyone tell me if the stock setup is a roller rocker or even roller lifters?

You can put 1.6:1 rockers on with a stock cam with no problems. They need to be self-aligning rockers.
They probably won't help much, either, with stock cam and stock TBI heads.

Ok, that was my next question: Should I even bother until I get a different cam and heads? If I could get 5hp out of it (full roller 1.6:1) I would be happy.

You would get the 5 horses, but there are cheaper ways to get it, and better buys for the same money.

Oh, and 5 horses isn't enough to feel in the seat. It might get you the placebo effect, however, and is a good thing to have for when you get good heads.
