Back by the axle or where the stock EFI filter lives are the typical locations people use.

Re: where do u mount an electric fuel pump?
I have a car with a well tuned Dave Smith Old's 461 big block, running a rear mounted Mallory 250 electric pump/filter set up at tank level. Works very well. I also put a pump power switch inside the car. Click it on a few seconds to fill the carb bowels and fires right up. Click off and let the car stall out for storage.

Re: where do u mount an electric fuel pump?
There is a 3/8 steel line coming from the gas tank. I cut out a section of the line and simply used rubber fuel line and hose clamps to connect the fuel pump. I do not use a return line.

Re: where do u mount an electric fuel pump?
There are three lines coming from the tank and they run all together to the engine bay. The main feed line is the largest and is the one you have to cut and splice into. Make sure you install a filter between the fuel tank and your new pump.

Re: where do u mount an electric fuel pump?
I did not get a wiring kit with my pump. Are you going to control the pump with a manual switch? If you are then simply run fused power to the power side of your pump and a ground that comes from the switch.

Re: where do u mount an electric fuel pump?
Did the wiring kit come with a diagram?
I followed the stock routing and mounted the fuel pressure regulator on the right side shock tower. Then I ran two seperate lines from the regulator to the carb.
I used to have a single line going to a dual feed into the carb. but I find my current set up better for working around the motor. In your case you could run a line from the regulator to the Nos fuel solenoid.
I have an old picture of how I had the Nos set up on my car(once again not pretty). I had steel braided lines running from the solenoids to the plate. You should also have a pressure gauge installed close to the carb also.
Hope this helps a bit.

Re: where do u mount an electric fuel pump?
Please pardon my ignorance as I'm sure these are both stupid questions for anyone with a bit of part swapping experience but
1) What is the red thing inside your spring? Is that at air bag?
2) What rear end is that, it doesn't look like mine at all and I'm curious?

I would remove the old line and use it as a guide to bend your new line and fasten it to the car in the same places as factory.

Someday I would like to sump my tank and run a 1/2 line all the way through to the regulator. That or run a seperate dedicated fuel system just for Nos.

Re: where do u mount an electric fuel pump?
Stock lines will work. Yes, I have my fuel pump on a switch.
Just use battery power and run an in-line fuse straight to your relay and then activate the relay with a ground from your switch.
I honestly can't remember how much these pumps draw for amps and you should probably wire in a relay. Depending on the amp rating of the pump you would install a fuse a little bigger.
You can get these in-line fuse holders pretty much at any parts store. Try and get one that is made with a good size wire.

Yea, that will work or you could get fancy and run it through the oil pressure switch that way if the motor stalls say in an accident it doesn't continue to run when the motor is off.

Re: where do u mount an electric fuel pump?
ok i gotta a relay kit for it already, it comes with the relay and fuse (30amp)and a circuit breaker. i gotta hook the circuit breaker up to the battery, and then to the relay. ground relay. then from the relay to the power on fuel pump. ground pump. then from the relay to a ignition switch or toggle. i was wondering if i can get my power out of my fuse box, the heater one to power my switch. itll be fused and protected incase of electrical failure. will that work that way?
On the bottom of the relay you will see numbers that correspond to terminals, 30, 87, 85, 86.
30 will go to your battery power and circuit breaker in line. 85 will go to the power wire also. Splice them together.
87 will go to the positive side of your pump.
The negative side of the pump can be grounded to the body near the pump.
86 will go to one terminal of your toggle switch and a ground wire will go to the other one.
When you turn the switch on it will provide a ground to the relay and close the contacts, sending power to the pump. As long as the pump is grounded it will work perfectly.
No problem right?

You have it mostly right but I would use a ground wire to switch the relay on and off.

Re: where do u mount an electric fuel pump?
You could always use the power wire that is coming from your relay to the pump and run it to the switch also. So when the pump is running the light will be on in the switch too. This will save you from running a fused wire to the switch.

Re: where do u mount an electric fuel pump?
ya thats what i was trying to explain in the beginning lol i musta got my words all bungled up or something... as of now i have the top ground middle the access or pump wire and the bottom the power. the switch lights up, i had it ran for my system so i was jus gna use that and plug the relay wire where amp wire went, so when i shut off switch, amp shuts down.

I like to keep my wiring simple. Less wires to run and fewer problems. Wait until you get wiring the Nos stuff.
What Nos kit are you going to be running and how big of shot?

Re: where do u mount an electric fuel pump?
I got a good deal on a used used Nos Cheater kit and ran that on my car for a couple of summers. Only used it for a few weekends until I got greedy and blew my motor up.
Not a good idea running a 250 shot using hyperutectic pistons and dual plane intake.
On a 150 shot out of the hole I ran the best of 11.18 @ 124mph with a 1.55 in the 60 foot that weekend. The only regret I had was not making a full pass on the 250 shot to see what it would have run before the pistons grenaded inside the motor. I'm sure somewhere in the high 10's.
I sold the kit shortly after that to help finance some home renovations. I will get another kit someday and was thinking maybe a fogger kit. My current motor was built with the intentions of running a minimum of a 200 shot.
I just think the fogger kits are better if you are going to be running bigger jetting 200 and up. Plates are good because they are simple to install and don't get in the way when you need to work under the hood.
I am sure there is good info. in the Power Adder section. Lots of guys in here run Nos and can help if you have problems. Need to go there myself.
