Should I be worried about this?
I noticed that due to the production tolerances of my block, the oil goove on the pass. side lifters gets precariously close to the top of the lifter bore. The oil hole for the lifter actually comes up above the bore at max lift and the groove is only ~.040" below the top of the lifter bore. Is it safe to run these like this? The inevitable little squirt of oil doesn't worry me much, but with the groove that close, doesnt leave much margin for error for things like valve float.

Re: Should I be worried about this?
Would it be safe to assume that I can just run a rev kit to keep the lifters firmly planted in the bores and be done with it? Will having the oiling holes exposed like that at peak lift adversly effect the oil pressure?

Re: Should I be worried about this?
If it were my motor, I wouldn't do it. Are you running a standard base circle cam? Is it beyond swapping out to a smaller base circle in order to drop the lifters further in the bore? And I am going on the assumption that those are hydraulic?
Is it like that for the entire bank, or just that one particular tappet? If it's the entire bank, obviously oil pressure will fluctuate moreso than if it were that lone tappet. Cannot say how much, again, not on my to-do list.
Rev kit would keep the lifter in place, but oil pressure would be my greater concern.
Nice choice on lifters by the way, love Isky's tappets.

Re: Should I be worried about this?
Its one bank because the goddamn casting is lower on the pass. side than the drivers, leaving the lifters short on space. The current one is a standard base circle cam, comp cams XE270HR. I guess your right that the only solution may be to have a custom grind made of the same cam profile, but on a small base circle core to pull the envelope of the lobe apexes back. I hope comp cams can do that.
