Okay guys i had to redo my motor because of some stuff that wet wrong. anyways i went from a 230/236 510/520 cam to 240/246 560/560 cam also picked up 65 cfm on the heads and new intake. Gasket matched the intake to the heads and just made everything way better. On my old setup it went 12.0 @ 114-115 all day.

Last night I barely got it to go 12.2 at 114. The tranny was acting a little weird. story of that here. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tran...ml#post3974510


Also i was trappig 111 the whole night until the end where i added 2 degrees of timing and shfted at 6500 instead of 7k because of the tranny. Thats how i got it to trap 114. im now at 38 degrees total.

Any ideas what could be the problem.?

 

I'd ask if you went from hydraulic roller to solid roller, because NO hydraulic roller 350 chevy based combo will like 7000 rpm, even with AFR's hydra-rev kit, good pushrods, beehive springs, titanium retainers and 8mm-stem-titanium valves. The reason 7000 works for LSes is that their cams have larger-diameter cores.

 

A tranny acting even slightly "weird" can add 1/2 second to your ET very easily. Get the tranny sorted out and try again. It's not time to freak out about your engine combo just yet.

Had an old 700R4 in one of my past cars. It had a lot of miles on it and you could count "one mississippi" between shifts. A fresh rebuild along with a shift kit netted 4 tenths and a couple MPH the next time out, no other changes. And that was only in a 13 second car.

 

Okay shifted around 6900 and went 11.8 @ 117.

I should be able to get 118 or 119. Its got a little more in it now.
