Passenger car LO5's had roller lifters, 2-bolt mains.
Basically a 350 version of the LO3.

Re: LO5
my truck LO5 (suburban) 4 bolt block is hyd. flat tappet but has the machining necessary to hold the spider and dog bones, so all my 305 roller stuff will swap in cleanly. If it's really a 4 bolt then it's probably a truck motor that got swapped in. I hear they're hit or miss on having the machining done for the lifter spider. A guy on ebay sells info for like 50 bucks on DIY machining to use the stock parts, but i'm sure with searching/asking here and looking at the stock stuff you could figure it out.

Re: LO5
500... I'd do it. I'd definately try to get them down some though. You figure if it really runs that good the motor and tranny alone should be worth it. If you parted it out and scrapped the rest you'd be ahead.
I am a junk junkie though... but there is NOTHING like an infinite amount of random little GM parts laying around, like for example interior screws, hvac controls, caddy emblems look cool glued to beer refrigerators, spare hvac controls, power window motors, switches, bench seat that makes a good garage couch, radiator, a/c parts, etc, etc. Imagine the amount of times you "make a run" to the hardware or parts store mid-project for something silly. It sure is nice to just go over to your donor car and grab a few things.
Or, you could put a fur interior and some dice in it and drive it around. Or even learn to DIY tune on that one, and if you blew it up, so be it.
There's a thousand reasons why to buy it. The cons are there too, like: A wife complaining about it laying in the yard, it turns into another project you don't work on, or you end up dumping money into it and later wonder why you did.
Hopefully this helps the decision along. If this is a democratic decision, I vote YES.
