Vacuum on a Super Victor?

I am running a super victor intake and noticed theres nowhere to hookup a vacuum line. Unless Im missing something I only see the extra ports for cooling. How can I run vacuum lines to brake booster, carb, dist, etc?

Re: Vacuum on a Super Victor?

If you have a manifold with no vacuum port provision that usually means you've got the PCV and Brake Booster lines both looking for the same home. The carb usually has only one large 3/8" vacuum port on the back (Holley-style carb).

To get a second port you've got a couple options:

1. Cheap way: "T" the PCV and Brake Booster together and run both to the carb.

2. Little more money, little more work: drill and tap one of the runners on the manifold for a screw-in vacuum fitting.

3. More expensive but slick and easy: buy a carb spacer that's got a vacuum port built into it. That's what I did on my big block with an old style Vic Jr. on it. Port on the carb spacer goes to the PCV, port on the back of the carb goes to the Brake Booster.

Ah ok. I just popped in the Holley DVD that came with my carb(Im running a 650 double pumper) and they said somethign similar. But they say the brake booster line should be on its own. I should be ok running them T-ed together for now right?

Yeah, it works. Not optimal, and I always worry about the long term effects of the oil vapor getting into the brake booster. But it works. Try to T it as close to the carb's vacuum port as possible.

run the brakes to the vacuum port on the carb. your distributor goes to the small port on the front of the carb on the bottom typically. As for PCV I never ran one since it wasn't a daily driver, just ran a catch can to catch any oil out of the valve cover.
