350 engine help
I picked up a 350 engine for free today was told it was a performance gm crate engine the block #s are 1024388c 5.7 lg SGI it has vortec heads. The engine sucked a valve and damaged one piston.I was also given an older set of heads that were off a running motor #333882.The engine was from a friend who got the Damaged crate engine that was replaced under warranty,It ran for one day.The lower end and cam and lifters look new.My question is can anyone tell me if I am able to replace the piston and have the cylinder honed or sleeved would these heads work on this motor.Any info on the #,s or suggestions were to start with this engine would be great. This would be my first engine build and appreciate any help.Sorry for the long read! Re: 350 engine help
The whole thing should be taken apart and checked for damage.
The 882 heads are garbage.
