Question about engine..
Question about engine..
I found an engine online.. It is a 350 TPI that has been bored .060 over with new pistons, cam, timing chain, pushrods, lifters, all gaskets, aluminum valve covers, chrome oil pan and different injectors. Now I don't know much about performance engines.. So would it be stupid to take this engine and put intake manifold baseplate on it or add hi flow runners? Also being that its bored is adding cylinder heads pointless.. Again not really up on all the performance engine stuff.. thansk for any input.

You need to find out more details about the exact parts used, such as pistons, cam, heads, etc.

Re: Question about engine..
There's seems to a 50/50 split on those who say don't go over .040 with a stock 350 because of thin walls overheating the other half says it's OK. Some say the problem is rotating assembly clearance issues, other say gen1 blocks can be bored .06 with no problems.
When I started my project I was set on a 388 so I bought a World Products Motown 350 which can be bored .125 over and still have .25" walls, but it also weights 10lbs more than sbc 350.
