Trouble Code 53 ??

86 Firebird Trans Am. 305 carbureted engine.

Had codes 13, 23 and 44. Throttle plate shaft bore worn severely. Installed reman carb. Runs and drives 100% better, but now has code 53. My manuals don't list a 53. One parts house guy says related to EGR.

Can anyone confirm this, or have alternative suggestion?

Thanks

Gator

Yes. EGR.

Faulty or loose wiring and / or connections to EGR solenoid.

Faulty or loose vacuum hoses to EGR valve.
