What is this?? PICS

Does anyone know what this connector is, and what it goes to? I'm pretty sure that it's bad because it has tar like gooey stuff inside of it and coming out of it.

I didn't realize that it was there, I used image shack for the pics so I'm guessing that's where it came from. It's gone now though.
