how long to replace flywheel

how long to replace flywheel

someone told me my flywheel was broken and that is why im haveing a starting problem. how long should it take a garage to do that job because i was told thats not something i could figure out in my driveway

It can be done in a driveway. Almost impossible for us to say if you could figure it out in your driveway without knowing more about the type of work you have done on the car.

I don't know what the book says, but I'd guess a shop would probably spend a day on it. 8 hours of labor times their labor rate (often above $75/hour these days), plus parts (flywheel, clutch disk & pressure plate, throw-out bearing, pilot bearing) & lube.

He must mean flex plate though as he has a 700R4. They crack fairly often. The trans can be unbolted and slid back. It's probably a 4 hr job.
