i put a new stater in. when i turned the key it seem like the starter was cranking fast. is this a problem or im i just to familiar with a slow crank of a crappy starter?

What kind did you put in? A parts store starter?

A high torque mini starter sounds like it's spinning the engine over like a jet engine.
