upper intake leak/ bars stop leak ok?
so, I now have this small leak in the upper intake. Of course that means a gasket replacement but I am not going to spend 600 bucks when I can virtually buy a used 350 from the local auto salvage for less than that.
Anyone used the bars stop leak (radiator, pelletized the red/yellow bottle) yes, i have the 89 pont. firebird with a 350 engine (swap)

I would like to ask a question, What does water and oil pass through? Answer galleys in the engine and radiator. Any type of stop leak will plug any small holes/galleys if you want it to or not. The company that came up with stop leak, bars leak or what ever they want to call it should be shot. I would not put any chemical to plug holes in any type of engine....

I have used it before and it works temporarily. However, it will start leaking again sooner or later.
Make sure you don't over do it. Don't put too much of the stop leak. After you replace the gaskets, make sure that you flush your cooling system.
Also, make sure that you don't have an internal leak. Intake gaskets are not that much of a pain in the behind to replace. Just make sure you don't cut any corners and that you take your time.
