Anyone here ever had issues with a chevy truck and long tube headers?
Right... not the right forum, or...website for that matter, but considering I've used this website as a guide to re-built my third gen and am unable to find any decent truck Forums, I decided to post here.
I'm sure some of you are chevy fans, therefore have owned chevy trucks. Unfortunately, the iroc I re-built off of the help all of you have provided me over a 2 year project had to be traded for a really nice 2002 Sierra 1500 SLT extended cab with a 5.3liter engine.
However, I have an issue with the Sierra's manifolds and need to replace them. Shorty headers are much more common, cheap and easy (as i still have an exhaust system in near mint shape)to replace for the truck. But considering I'll want to have a true dually setup at some point, I'm thinking of maybe getting long tubes and setting the dual setup soon.
The issue I have with Long tubes is that I remember the fact that they provide less ground clearance. This could be an issue as I off-road quite a bit and play around in the snow/ice drifts a lot.
So, does anyone have experience with installing longtubes on a pickup of my generation, or any pickup for that matter? Did it kill off some ground clearance? Thanks!
