Ls1 Power Steering Pump

Can i make a Ls1 style power steering pump work with a v belt setup? Ive got a Gen I 350 roller block with alum heads. Also ive seen pictures of these pumps, are they a remote reservoir? Im looking to do something like the KRC power steering pumps but i cant spend $300 for one of there new pumps.
