350 heads on 305????
I have a 305 I think by the suffix code CFD on the passenger side of the block. However the heads casting numbers 14079261 are that of an 86 chevrolet truck from my findings. Can you put 350 heads on a 305? This guy told me it was a 350 lol. Just wondering if I am on the right track so far. I was going to put it in my 92 rs that was a v-6. I bought it as a chasis. The suffix CFD I think means that it is a 1982 305 and is 145 hp. But what does this mean roch E4ME carb then in another column it says BFG/Monte for application what does BFG mean and the roch E4ME mean? Can any one help figure this out so I can determine if I want to put this in if its a 305 I wanted a 350 what should I do?

Re: 350 heads on 305????
Well for starters you can put 350 heads on a 305 and it seems according to owners everones SBC v8 is a 350 so always check the casting numbers lol. Now the ROCH E4ME is just the carberator. Its refering to the quadrajet 4 barrel carb that came originally on that motor. The B F G stands for the body style (cars) that the were used in. For example the F stands for "F body" and is in reference to the camaros and firebirds. However according to the suffix code you are correct it is a 305.
