afr"s and manifold porting
anyone know why you cant port match a manifold to the intake gaskets when using afr heads. they reccomend fel pro 1205. I have sent them an email, but havent heard back yet.

Re: afr"s and manifold porting
Call AFR to verify the corner radii on the specific heads you have, but the #1034 195's have 3/8" corner radii, where the FelPro 1205 has smaller corner radii (1/8" or 3/16"...not sure). Matching the manifold to the 1205 would result in the corners of the head port hanging out into the airstream coming from the intake.

Re: afr"s and manifold porting
i just got this back and you are absolutly correct.
Hi Joe,
Setup looks good. The reason we don't recommend port matching your
manifold to the gasket is because the gasket has a 1/4 radius while the
heads have a 3/8. That will leave a small lip in the corners. Match
the manifold to the heads and use the 1205 felpro to seal.
Thank you for choosing AFR,
so what is the best way to match the intake to the heads then?
