Re: from roller to non roller cam
I found a GOOD article in engine masters spring 09 magazine, shows a zz4 short block, forged pistons, afr aluminum heads, with the hsr setup, and a comp cam 268XFI-HR13, PN08-466-8. Dyno showed 436hp@6200 and 416tor@4800. I have found lifters spider and dog bones on ebay for 100 bucks, the cam is 279.00 and that is a good start.

no smell through the vac. I was told before that the holley afpr you get with the fuel rail kit is not any good, says you can adjust it from 30-60, can't get mine over 40, have to turn the screw back and forth to get that far. I can send the injectors back to fic to have them checked? Otherwise I don't have a clue!

Re: from roller to non roller cam
To answer toyotah8r, the vacuum line going to the map is aprox 6inches long, aujp bin, disign III 22lb from fic, afpr from holley, got it with the hsr intake with fuel rail kit. I have lowered the pressure at one time but was told those injectors are tested at 43psi. I have the afpr turned in as far as I can turn it and it is only at 40, 45 with the vac disconnected. It seems to be working fine, how do I know if it is bad? I have had bad luck with just thowing parts at it so I have to be sure.
that and maybe a faulty MAP sensor? i had one go out on my 91 SD tpi car and wouldnt idle and ran even more rich than now

everytime one of my s10's(they are SD basically) starts idleing bad and really rich burning...i pop a map sensor in and a oxygen sensor and fixes it....
hell...that idea carries to my 91 trans am LOL

All sensors are new, would'nt a bad map set a code? I have data loged and it seems to work, is the easy way to check it is to unhook it? There are no vacuum leaks, and the o2 is a new heated one.

Yea, just for kicks I unpluged the map, ran really bad, then I disconnected the vac off it, seemed to idle ok, took it for a ride and had a bad part throttle stumble but when you hit it it runs pretty good. The ses came on and got 33-34-45 LOL, I think it works. I did post on diy prom, I have played with the tune but never got anywhere. I pulled out fuel but it would still idle rich then run lean running down the road.
