Oil sending unit
Gotta ??? old 305 in my 83 Z has a pipe extending the mounting for the oil sending unit. It is a large unit and will hit intake w/o it. Here is the problem: extension pipe broke in old block!!! Is this extension factory and where do I get it? Or is there another sending unit I should be using? The car uses the factory gauge if this helps. Thanks!!!

Re: Oil sending unit
You could try a salvage yard. Most of the time there is an older car with the same unit. Try any of the GM cars that are from 1980 on up. Check around and you should be able to find what you need. Also, make sure it matches what you have.

You can make one out of a pipe nipple and 90 degree elbow. Readily available at Ace Hardware and the like.

Re: Oil sending unit
I did the same thing, breaking one, a few months back. Picked up a replacement at AZ. It was a generic piece not necessarily listed in their computer for our model.
