Hey guys, I have a 86 trans am 305. I have the top and front of the engine torn down. I'm in the process of doing the timing chain camshaft/lifters. So the question I ask is can i pull the camshaft out the front without pulling the engine??? My haynes book says i can, but the autozone repair guide says i can't. So who has done it, and what tips n tricks can you pass along. It seems like I have enough room with the radiator pulled but i'm not sure.

 

I haven't done one in the car yet(will in the next couple weeks), but i think that you could do the cam by pulling the radiator and a/c condensor.

 

I've done it. You can, if you move the radiator and a/c.
