Engine bay cleaning.

I just want to know what do you remove when you clean the engine bay... I know that a lot of wire are not necessary with a Carbed engine..

Let me know if you want please

You don’t have to remove anything.

Just cover the throttle opening, and don’t spray anything into the alternator.

Run the motor after cleaning to evaporate any water that might be puddling.

Fog lights are not driving lights. Keep em turned off slow pokes.

Re: Engine bay cleaning.

What are some good degreasers that won't damage anything or stain any aluminum? Something that will get rid of all the road grim on the shocks, calipers, and front of the engine.

I have used GUNK brand degreaser.

It will remove some types of engine paint so you might want to test an inconspicuous surface first.

Never noticed a problem with aluminum.

Make sure you cover your fenders with waterproof drop cloths.

Re: Engine bay cleaning.

Depends what you mean by "required..." a lot of those are necessary for various components to function properly (gauges, sensors), wiring that would be safe to remove depends on what modifications you've made (ie, replacing CC-carb or A/C delete). I'd recommend not touching anything unless you've got wires with one end going to nowhere, unused connectors and the like... then it would be safe to remove those (although not necessarily a good idea)
