junk yard time?

2 questions

1 - i have a power pulldown hatch. i want to swap to manual non power latch. is that possible? junk yard model will bolt on? will i need to change lock cylinders or just swap them?

2 - i am fabricating an aluminum sheetmetal center console and i threw away my oem console(doh!) can someone tell me what the width measurement of the console is?

My easiest solution was to remove the trim panel hiding the latch assembly, cut the wires, andthen drill a couple of holes through the whole pull down assembly. A couple of 1/4" screws, and reinstall the trim. This worked as I hoped for 2 more years without issue. Sounds ghetto, but didn't show at all.

i may end up doing that or welding it, it isnt broken but i want to lighten up the car and i dont need a motor back there but if i have to change keys and cylinders then i will remove the motor and rig up the latch with bolts or welds. i know people have swapped them to manual latch but not sure about key and cylinder?

I'm not sure about the lock cylinder either. Seems to me the pull down has a cap that snaps onto the lock with the cable in it and the non has a rod off the back of the cylinder. The cyl may interchange if you get the rod. The problem I do see is the bracket the latch is bolted to. The pull down bracket isn't the same as a non pull down and it's welded into the rear body panel.
