getting rid of my emissions crap!

I was wandering if anybody knew how to bypass/eliminate ALL my emission and A/C crap. I've already cut my cat out and I want to get rid of everything else. i know you can use a piece of rope and make a template to go size a new belt up with, but when I remove the smog pump, EGR, and everything else, I know it's going to throw a buttload of trouble codes. is there any way I can avoid this

I'm probably going to sell all my A/C stuff, so if anybody is interested, let me know. Everything works and it's cold enough to make snotsickles!

Re: getting rid of my emissions crap!

just because you can do it doesn't mean you should. EGR helps gas mileage. Even with all that on there, your front end is still lighter than a V8 without it. The best way to get rid of it would be to swap in a V8.

You might not get any trouble codes.
If it causes any negative effects you can take it to a tuner and have it adjusted, as well as removing certain trouble codes.

You may have to use a jumper on your A/C pressure switch plug - the one that turns the fan on with some models. If your fan runs constantly after unhooking the A/C then you need to jump the wires for that plug.

Re: getting rid of my emissions crap!

one way to avoid this is to not remove it... it isnt hurting engine performance removing it wont add horsepower.... why create yet another thirdgen that wont pass smog?

Save all those parts. There will surely be a HUGE market in a few years when collectors are restoring these cars to their original state. Hello Ebay!

Keep the EGR, it helps performance by lowering combustion temps and is inactive at wide open throttle and idle.

Re: getting rid of my emissions crap!

Please This is a very common topic and you'll find lots of info from other people who have decided to make their cars illegal to drive on the streets in the United States. Although I would take the advice of the posters before me. I would bet sometime in the near future the current administration is going to make every state do emissions tests, and you're going to need those parts on your car.

You can remove the A/C with no problems though. You need an A/C delete pulley to take up the space ( I dont know if V6 serpentine systems are different than V8 ones ).
