Transmission: 700r4
87 Trans Am GTA Only OVERDRIVE WORKS
I bought a 87 Trans Am GTA With 700r4, I have to always drive in Over Drive. I dont have 1 2 or D , If i select any of those gears it grinds real nasty. Anybody have any ideas what to look at. Thanks, Josh

there was a problem with all those trans up to 90 - they tended to row back and forth into 4th and would burn out.
they finally got it fixed but you got one of the bad ones.
remove - repair - replace.
when they run good and the do most of the time - they run very good - not for hard 383 stuff but good enough for most days.
