Perimeter valve covers and fuel pump...
Just a few questions...
Since I'm about to get my tax return back, I've got a few things on my SBC that will probably be replaced.
My valve covers are basically shot and I've tried straightening them and everything else to try to get them to seal. Just not happening, they're too flimsy and warped from use.
Does anyone have any recommendations on GOOD aftermarket perimeter valve covers that seal well? I don't really care if they're chrome or look nice, it's all about function to me.
Also, I use an electric fuel pump (on a carb setup) with a return regulator and had it die a few days ago after probably 2 years and maybe 10,000 miles use. Is this a normal lifespan? It was only a $70 pump. Anyone have any recommendations for a good 6-8 PSI pump in terms of longevity? Must be alcohol-tolerant, I run E85.
I did a few searches and couldn't come up with anything specific on either of those two, just thought I'd take a stab at asking.
Thanks in advance, guys.

I'm running an Aeromotive SS pump on the '57 with E85. No problems so far.
Can't say I'm much help on the valve covers. A set of aluminum would probably seal better than stamped steel.
