Engine Question

I recently purchased a 1987 formula Firebird and I'm trying to determine what engine is in it. I was told that the engine in the car was a 350 by the seller. as far as i can tell the car was originally a F.I. 305 and is now carbureted. so is their any way to tell if its a 350 or just a carburated 305 without ripping the whole engine out or apart?

Re: Engine Question

Read the casting number on the rear ledge of the block. Decode it a Mortec.com.
