rpms not generatiing speed
I was driving to class today and i was pretty late so i was pushing it pretty hard to get there on time, and i noticed something that i've reminded myself to ask on here before but never got around to it.
This usually only occurs in first gear, I'll launch hard (give it alot of gas without spinning the tires) with hopes of accelerating fast, but what happens sometimes is the engine will rev up, real high, up to like 4500 but you can't really tell or feel this generating speed, the best way i could describe it would be like an auto tranny slipping (i have a t5). I don't usually notice any clutch problems, is there anyway to check for clutch slippage? it normally feels pretty strong, the slip point is noticeable if you're feathering the clutch on a hill or something so it's not like you hear alot of revving and it takes a while to move the car.
another possible reason for this i think it might be is either wheel hop some other drivetrain cluprit caushing the engine speed not to be transmitted to the road properly.
I have a broken torque arm bushing if that's any help.
Anyway, what i want to know is what could be causing this? and is there any way to check clutch slippage easily?'
Thanks guys.
