HELP please!!!

I just got the engine back together after replacing the head gasket.... I fired it up and it was idleing extremely rough, I had to keep my foot on the gas to keep it going. There was very loud up-front popping and by the injectors gas is leaking out on both sides. Also after turning it off there is no pressure in the fuel lines... What should I do?

Did you replace the O rings on the injectors?

Yes.... maybe.... no I am going to do that in a few mins. But that wouldn't be the pressure problem would it?

Re: HELP please!!!

If it's leaking badly enough, and if you say you can see fuel leaking, then that's badly enough in my book, then yes that will be your pressure problem. How bad are your O rings? If there's a lot of miles on the engine I'd replace them. I usually get a light coat of oil on them and press them in to place, you'll know when they are correctly seated. Good luck!

Re: HELP please!!!

How about for the really rough idling? Would the injectors not being seated properly be that issue there?

Re: HELP please!!!

I'd have to say yes. Fuel that should be going to your cylinders is now being leaked out. Fix the fuel leak first, and if you still have the rough idle, then we can go from there.
