No Start.....Please help!!!!!
Well I have searched high and low in the threads for a similar issue...Here goes....
I have a 1985 Trans Am with a 305 4bbl H code and a manual tranny......
Car hadn't started for over a year...I put a new battery and starter in it and got it started.....worked for a few days but never idled properly...then all of a sudden it wouldn't start....cranked but no start....I pulled the plugs and found them bad so I put new plugs in it and it started great.....would start for about a week with just the slightest turn of the key....idled perfect.....then all of a sudden it won't start again......turns over but no spark....i put new wires, cap, rotor and coil and still got no start.....when i put the rotor on i noticed the mechanical advance was very rusty .....is this usual?
I have checked the grounds and wires after the starter.....but no start just got lots of crank and fuel.....I am without any more ideas....Does this sound like something anyone else has dealt with? Please help!
