Camaro'S need some info CHECK THIS OUT Camaro'S
ok so to sum it up i am a new comer to third gen camaro's and would like to know a little bit more about them.
what i am interested in mainly is a Iroc-z but im not too picky just preference. i would like to know exactly whats in the car stock i know that it is a 5.7 tpi a basically that's it. i would like to know what kind of suspension it comes with stock and other machanical parts that it comes with stock like transmison, rear end. basiclly i would like a run down of the car out of the factory.
next i would like to know the best combo of performance parts that i can add that doesnt make it to much of a hot rod because i would like to drive the car. what i mean is that i dont want to gut it or make it a 10 sec car i would be happy if it ran soild 13 mid 12. but back to it. i like to handle a car so what would be the best suspension that i can go with and would it be smart to change the axle's if needed i dont know. next i want to target the engine im not sure of the horse power of a stock iroc i would imagin it to be around 215-230 so how would i bring that up or what should i focus on torque or hp. i would must likely supercharge it is that a good approch and can some one fill me in on tune and mods that need to be done along with that. also what is a good transmison to go with i was thinking 6spd manual good or bad.
i will be doing my own reserch but i like out side facts in idea's so feel free to share what you have or what is good.
thanks for your time and for reading this

Welcome to the boards!
IROCs came in a few different packages depending on the year. '85-86 there was no 350, just a couple different options for 305s. The TPI version put out 215 hp. Starting in '87 the 350 was available, with 225 hp and 330 lb/ft torque. AFAIK, the IROC was basically identical to Z-28s except for stiffer suspension components, so it might be worth your while to expand your search for a Z-28 as well. There's all sorts of information to be had on engine builds, from mild to extreme, with or without power adders, with the search button. A T-56 transmission is a good way to go if you want a standard to hold up to more than stock torque, plenty of people have swapped them in and there's even an article on how to here https://www.thirdgen.org/technical-articles
There is information on what was available in each car as far as engines (and their power ratings), transmissions, and rear gears under the "Camaro Tech Data" menu on the left side of the main page here.
One last thing, it's "Camaros" not "Camaro's"

I always thought it was "Camaro's" but oh well. Anyways for a complete rundown on production numbers and all available engines and options, go to www.iroc-z.com Thats one of my favorite places. There is also a lot of history on there as well as a lot of pics. Good luck!
