Starting Problem
I dropped my camaro off at a friends so he could hot wire the fans so there ALWAYS on i come back (i whent to get my tux for prom) and the car won't start. It's got fuel and air to it and i personally think it's either the plugs/wires or the distributor cap. he said the engine is dead because it's got like 225k on it. But when i try and start it it sounds like it is SO close to catching iit's turning over but not catching. Help PLEASE!!

hahahah, lol, that's hilarious, no offense to you bud, but you drop off your perfectly fine running car at your friend's to have him wire up your fans so they stay on when the car runs, so you come back to a car that won't start and his excuse is the car won't start because the motor's dead?
That's a great friend you got there, but yeah, go ahead and ask him exactly what he did, make him show you how he wired everything up, he could have accidently unplugged something while wiring it. I know it's not the problem for your situation but I was changing something, I forgot what, but I had to take the air cleaner off my TBI camaro and I was pulling intake air temp sensor off of the air cleaner and I didn't notice it at the time but I accidently pulled one of the connectors off of the TBI unit, and the car started but it ran horrible, so I checked everything and realized I had unplugged one of those connectors on the top of the TBI unit and it wasn't spraying out of that injector, so I plugged it back in and it ran fine.
So just have him run over everything he's done.
Hope you get your car running before prom!

Re: Starting Problem
i actucally talked to some other people about the problem and they said to check the ignition coil when i get a chance because he (being the mechanic i asked for the second guess) said that he would unplug that and it would do the same thing to any car the sounding of the engine turning over and never catching.

Did you ask the guy what he did? How could the ignition switch have gone bad in a few hours? Something's not checking out man.
