Transforming my 305 TBI on more than a budget
Hey guys, i am new here and have a question. I have an 89 305 TBI. I want to do some conversion (upgrade) the 305. I was wanting to carb. it and ad some moderate horsepower goodies. I was thinking of a edelbrock 1406 carb, performer intake, switch cylinder heads to some from a 305 TPI, Hooker headers and a new fuel pump, along with other things. I origionally started this project a few years ago and it got put on the back burner. I have a 91 iroc positrac rear end on it already. I am wanting it to be a sleeper. in other words, if i am sitting at a red light and a mustang rolls up tempting me, i want to satisfy the temptation with my pleasurable sin of leaving it behind. let me know if you can give me some advice. thanxs ahead of time.

Your plan sounds fine, but you're still at a severe weight disadvantage, and a torque disadvantage, to the 5.0 Mustangs, and to overcome it, you're going to need nitrous, or more cubic inches, or both.
