CODE 36 (ECM) and some other problems
Hi! im finishing my 89 GTA project and now i´ve got some problems
... let´s see, i have the SES Light always off when i bought it because there is not any bulb in there... it was overtaken...
So i put the bulb on and the light show me the error 15 (temperature problems) and im not sure if it even shows the 36 that got me now...
I´ve changed thermostat (Original Temp.), the pipe, the seal, all to fix the temp problem (the car rarely pass over 130 F)...
So i put off the battery and try to get no-errors... i´ve run without the SES Light ON around 7 or 8 starts... but then the CODE 36 appears... i´ve used the Search to see if anyone has the same problem, when i put off the battery then i get again no codes... but after a several starts it gets up another time...
When i start it, it cranks a little (rrorrahrrahrrahrrahrrahhrahhrahh.... BROOOM) some times it comes out quickly (specially when it´s hot) and takes over 2 or 3 seconds in cold. the idle is about 1100 rpm and takes down in 4 mins to get stable on 800-600 rpm (i dont remember it well) after changing the thermostat and all the related components it got stable about in 30 secs.
I´m now in Rockauto trying to buy everything i need to solve the CODE 36 issue, i´ve bought the "RELAY,MASS AIRFLOW SEN BURNOFF" because it appears to be what is related in the guide to follow the Error Codes... but i dont know if it will be enought. Any ideas? (i preffer to not buy the MAF sensor hehehe... its a rip off my wallet)
The car runs strong and the idle once is stable dont do weird things.
Another thing i want to comment is that the Temp is allways in the middle and barely gets bit more to the right of the middle when im running by streets, and over 1/3 of total when im running in highway. Now the temp outside is running over 15-30ºC
The problem with that is that when im on street the coolant boils a bit and when i stop the car when is hot it boils a LOT... the CAP of the coolant bottle has deformed a bit and now it not seals correctly
... it´s that boiling normal?
And a last thing... Where on the hell do you get the floor mats original GM? heheheh!! i´m trying to find them in original GM Beechwood TAN, but it´s a impossible Task... Any Help?
Of course, thanks for read me and thanks in advance.

Re: CODE 36 (ECM) and some other problems
im having the same problem with my 86 iroc. its giving me code 36 and code 33. just after i finished taking care of code 15 last week. as far as the coolant boiling. is it really boiling? or is it just flowing from the radiator into the overflow? often people mistake it for boiling. and the bubbling is normal. also is your air dam still there? and does your fan turn on

Re: CODE 36 (ECM) and some other problems
