oh crap not good...

so if this happens sounds as if al states will have to adopt California emission standards...only reason they are doing this now if because they now control chrysler and GM....anyways take a look at this link from the nytimes

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/19/bu...s.html?_r=3&hp

42mpg average for cars is pretty high stardard...new camaro doesnt meet that...nor any of the performance cars...shoot even the economy cars dont meet that except for the really stupid ugly prius and hybrid civic...i thought this would be something all of you would be interested in hearing so im just sharing...feel free to state you opinions on the matter...i know im not to happy about it....funny thing is theyre is a group that is happy about it saying it will help with global warming...but they just stated on news about week ago maybe more that they were wrong and there is no global warming that the earth is actually cooling...whatever...imo our government and majority of the american people are blind and stupid...its like high school when the popular kid walks in with a new pair of shoes all those kids got to have the same shoes...anyways i hope this doesnt hurt the camaro, corvette, and challenger to much they should be allowed to still make them if people want them...im tired of the government telling us what we should drive....anyways in short thats my opinion

Re: oh crap not good...

As I understood that, it looks like ALL 2010 or 2011 and newer vehicles would have to have what is currently known as the California Emissions option. Which wouldn't bother me at all, so long as it does not affect the pre-'90 cars I now own.

Re: oh crap not good...

yea it sounds like its only for new cars & trucks...they cant expect 20+ year old cars to pass the same emissions testing as new cars. i'm not worried yet.
