Mechanical Fuel Pump or Electric?
So I'm starting to build my 350 (010 cast number bored .040 over) from an early to mid 70's car. I'm planning on pushing this thing to borderline 400 horses if not more if it can fit within my budget.
At the moment, I'm running a 305HO Edelbrock 600 4bbl and I still have my electric fuel pump in the tank. My concern is, with this block more than likely having the mechanical fuel pump spot on the side, what should I do?

Summit and others sell a chrome block-off plate for like $10, if that's what you're after.

Alright, that's nice to know. Is it better to go that route or revert to a mechanical pump?

If your current setup is running fine without any hassles, then keep using it.

Re: Mechanical Fuel Pump or Electric?
one upside I see to having an electric pump: no worry of wiping out a motor because the fuel pump let go and leaked gas into the oil.
one upside to a mechanical pump: don't need to drop your rear end and exhaust to change a bad pump.
I personally recommend sticking with the electric pump if its in good working shape and grabbing a block off plate for the motor. The stock pump should flow plenty for a carb'd setup.
