Got a bug, and I need help
Im not sure if the problem is electronic or mechanical, but if anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears because I'm dumb-founded.
Okay, I got an 86 TPI 350 IROC (Not the stock motor, was origionally a 305), as of right now I got a nasty issue. After running for about 30 to 40 minutes, the car will try and die as if it is running out of fuel. This only happens though while stopped and idleling. It seems that something is getting hot, because once the car sits for a bit it runs just fine. So far I have changed the injectors, the fuel pump isnt very old, and I replaced the connector at the fuel pump where the wires go into the tank. Yet despite it I am still having problems. I'm not sure if it is a spark, electronic, or fuel issue, but if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please let me know.

Fuel pump relay, perhaps? $20.00 part... Fixed my similar problem. I would think if it was the filter, It would happen constantly! Wouldn't hurt to throw on a new fuel filter while your at it though.

If you can get your hands on a fuel pressure gauge I would start with that, checking the fuel pressure when it seems like it's running out of fuel. Then go from there...

Well the filter is almost new and I changed both the throttle position sensor and the fuel pump relay not too long ago, the ECM is not very old either, I've been throwing parts at it trying to make it right, but then again one of them could be bad, wouldn't be the first time I've gotten a junk part from a discount parts store, but Ill try getting a gauge on it and see what I can find out ... it should be aout 40 psi correct? Oh and it has an after-market fuel pump and adjustable pressure regulator as well, the fuel pump is almost 3 yrs old though.

Hmmm that could make sense, because the vehicle just acts likes its out of gas or just not firing, and I've replaced several other parts in the destributer but not that one.

Re: Got a bug, and I need help
I changed out the pick up coil today, the old one looked really bad, it was falling apart as I took it out. So now I gotta wait and see if it helps, but I will probably have to wait for a warm day to see how its gonna act, it only seems to do it on hot days. Once I know something I'll post about it.
