i have an 86 with a 350. last night it started fine at 11 pm. today when i went to start it it wouldnt. when i turn the key the lights go on and i can hear the fuel pump then a click when i stop turning the key(have a video of it). i was told it was the starter so i replaced it and its doing the same thing. what could be my problems?

 

turns out my starter was fine. but my battery went bad and wouldnt take a charge so got a new battery and it still wont start. whats going on!!??

 

what sounds do you hear when you turn the key?

 

You mentioned that you have a video of this? Post it up, I think we'd get a better idea of what's going on if we could see/hear it for ourselves. By the way, I like your screen name.

 

i like it too. lol btw i figured it out. the neutral safely switch on the shifter came lose.
