something is wrong
something is wrong
car died on me the other day. fixed a bad ground wire, but now the car will not rev. it starts and idles fine until i give it gas then it chugs out, let off the gas and its fine again. i can't even drive it. I tried another ecm and tps. Is there a way to test the map sensor? I have not checked the fuel pressure yet, need to borrow a tester for that. I'm thinking its a bad fuel pump. any ideas?

It sounds like your fuel pump is on its way out. Do a search you can find instructions on the forums for dropping the tank. Supreme Member

Why does everyone jump all over the ECM first? They RARELY go bad. If I had a dollar for every ECM swap I've seen on this board, I'd have a brand new 2010 Camaro! And a TPS would throw a code, as well as a MAP sensor.

Try the fuel filter - they can get trash in them that settles, until you give it gas, then the trash gets caught in the flow and plugs the outlet, until you let off the gas again, when the trash settles. Much easier to try before dropping the fuel tank! Buy a $10 fuel guage and spend 5 minutes to put it in - everyone on this board should have one BEFORE anything else.
Keep your diagnosis basic and try the simple solutions first - 9 times out of 10 it's the little easy fixes that are needed.
