fuel pump dying?
ok had a problem with starting the car last week, had a buddy come over and tested the fuel pump, when we put power to the pump it didn't come on, but he went under the car, gave the tank a few hits with a stick and it started working again, is this a sign that the pump is on its way out? i just had it replaced less than 3000km ago, not sure what brand it was they used though but come one less than 3000km??? damn made in china crap

Re: fuel pump dying?
That sounds like it would be a bad pump. Kinda like a starter, when they are goin bad if you can give them a tap to get them going again, its time to replace. I've seen them bad out of the box SO many times with aftermarket units. We've seen it so often that we stopped buying them at my shop and always go for the factory pump. Its a little more pricey, but well worth the price in the long run. Someone else might know of a good aftermarket pump for these cars, but I've never had to do one, so I can't help you there. Good luck with it!
