So I have a 85 Z28 it had a 305 with 5speed then the engine went out on me so I replaced it with a 350 GM goodwrench crate engine. Then about 6 months later the tranny went out while doing a burnout and it ended up being destroyed. Now I am in the process of taking the tranny out and replacing it.
So I picked up a very very neglected supposedly 84 Z28 with 5 speed for $100. Taking the transmission out and it has a cable clutch not a hydralic which would make it a 83 unless they still put cable clutches in 84 and switch sometime?

My real question is should I put the cable clutch setup in my 85 or keep the hydraulic setup?
I also was wondering what cars had posi in them?
