stock 1/4 mile speed
stock 1/4 mile speed
i decided to see how fast i could get going in a 1/4 mile just using my speedo and odo. ive got a 305 automatic convertable. dont know what tranny or rear end. maybe you guys know?
in 400m (1/4 mile) my speedo read 140km, but i know that with my bigger wheels that works out to around 155km or 97mph does that sound about right?

Re: stock 1/4 mile speed
There are too many variables right now. The trans is bound to be 700R4 but the 305 ranges from 145hp in 82 to 230hp for the TPI after 89. Rear end is 2.73-3.73. The 85 Iroc w/ 215 hp and 3.42 were good for high 14s low 15s hope this helps.

i dont have alot of history on the car so it could verry well not be stock.

Re: stock 1/4 mile speed
well its a '88 and sorry if im way off here but if it was a 700r4 that would mean there are 4 gears right? well ive never kept count but im prety sure ive got more then 4, however 1st gear is still verry agressive though. so is there anyays i can find out for sure what my tranny is?
i dont have alot of history on the car so it could verry well not be stock.

Re: stock 1/4 mile speed
I forgot all about the lock up. I have an aftermarket one w/o lock up. As for the rest of your research, look at the vin. this will tell you everything about your car (assuming its stock). look towards the very front of the dash on the driver side. you will have to read it from the outside due to the 62 degree sloped windshield. Otherwise there are trans and rear end tags that will tell you what trans and what set of gears. These can only be found by getting underneath the car and the room is TIGHT around the trans. Happy hunting!
