TBI will only start if I pinch the return line?
TBI will only start if I pinch the return line?
I put a TBI 350 from a 93 surburban in a Land Cruiser and installed it with a walbro gsl395 pump rated somehwhere between 30 and 40psi and the fuel fuel injectors are barely getting fuel? If I pinch the return line pressure builds immediatly and the engien will start. Any suggestions ? this is driving me crazy trying to figure this out. The store I bought the pump from said that i do not need an additional regulator , that the tbi regulator should be fine with this pump. Why will it only run if the return line is pinched?

TBI only needs 12-14 psi.
What kind of fuel pressure are you getting when cranking over the engine? Don't guess. Put a gauge on it somewhere.

Most likely the diaphram on your fuel pressure regulator has failed. You can get the diaphram separately, but an entire TBI rebuild kit is only $25-35 and fairly easy to install.
