Starting issues.
I have to confirm this but I think I lost my second starter armature in two weeks of test and shop runs. I know that my ignition sticks in the start position and you have to physically turn it back to the on position. My brother also wanted to drive it (hes been driving stick longer wanted to see if anything else was wrong) and when he tried to start it it caught but he kept cranking the starter which I could hear screaming. The only problems with the car running is driveablity issues such as idle, carb and timing tuning etc. It drove great for a car that has been sitting for seven years.
However, the starter is probably destroyed again. I was wondering one thing...
Is there a way to get the ignition to spring back to the on position so we don't accidentally run the starter? (I think I've done that once or twice before noticing my temp gauge and realizing its still in the start position). I don't want to keep destroying starter armatures if the ignition is sticking in the start position.

Re: Starting issues.
I would replace it but if there is a way to fix it without taking the whole steering column apart at the moment I'll do that first. If I am going to have the column apart I'll also replace my turn signal/wiper/CC stalk. At the moment I'm sort of in a jam because my brother said he might have to do the valve seals in his Fiero, if he does then we need a running car. Mine runs but alas won't start because of the starter.
I can order parts so I can do the work when I get there though. Is there a good thread as to how to do the job for both the ignition key coil switch and the stalk? Pictures would be helpful too.
