I got a code 45 - Oxygen Sensor (rich) so I went ahead and changed my 02 sensor (even though I did just get a new one back in December along with getting my car tuned) and the light came on again when I was driving. I noticed that it does it whenever I drive on 2 specific roads... anyone know what I can do?

What makes those roads special?
Okay really, is that the only road with a hill you drive on, the only time you get into it (to get up the hill)?
You may want to check a few other things such as.
The spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. If any part of your ignition is weak, it can cause a weak spark, in turn not burning all the fuel in the cylinders, causeing a rich condition.
Also the CTS (coolant temp sensor) located by the t-stat. This one is for the computer, the sensor for the guage is (not 100% sure which) either in the head or block, between the #1 and #3 spark plug. Should have a single wire. That one only works the guage, nothing else so irrelvant here.
You could also check your MAP sensor, timing, check for any vac leaks, dirty air filter, bad injectors.

Ok, that makes sense. One of the roads is a flat road and the other one is a pretty steep hill and once my car shifts down, the light pops on. Thanks for the help.

Back from the dead, what are the signs of a bad MAP sensor? Would it squeak?Originally Posted by kcb37
