I have and 87 camaro it had the 305 tp automatic. i swapped to a carb 350 and t-5 manual trans if i am on a back road going 50 in 5th gear everything is fine but if i get on the interstate once i get to 70 and in fifth gear the car will go from 170 degress to 210 degress in 3 miles.After about 7 or 8 miles the car gets up to 230 degress and the transmission get really hot plus the rpms will jump 2 or 3 hundred and you can tell the car is in gear but it wont go anywhere it just dies and once you pull of the road and stop and restart in 1st it'll start moving again. Its not a clutch slipping but i dont have a clue what is wrong.any ideas please give them to me .
