oxygen sensor placent

hey everyone i got a simple question... i have a heated o2 sensor thats located at the end of the y pipe... i have long tube headers custom y pipe and flowmaster 80 series catback... it takes like 2 minutes for it to go into closed loop.... if i move my heated sensor to the driver side collector would it go into closed loop faster or heat up faster... im thinking that maybe i have the sensor too far back... like i said it works it just taking a little too long... i have it hooked to the fuel pump so its only on when the car is running.... thanks in advance...

Re: oxygen sensor placent

Possibly, but O2 sensor heat is only one of the variables that the ECM looks at before deciding to go into closed loop. I had a 3rg gen with shorties and a heated O2 mounted close to the collector and it wouldn't go closed loop much faster than yours does, when started from overnight-cold.

Re: oxygen sensor placent

Possibly waiting for engine coolant temp to get warm enough before going closed loop.
